There's a beautiful full moon out there right now where I am.  It's the second one this month so it's a blue moon in case you have any of those "once in a blue moon" plans or just need a reason to go out and gaze at it fondly (or howl).  We don't get another one until 2015.  While you're gazing, here's a soundtrack.  There are lots of versions of Blue Moon.  I like the mellow one by the Mavericks.  Then there's Blue Moon of Kentucky with a bit of Bill Monroe doing his slower blue grass version at the beginning with Ricky Skaggs and John Fogerty kicking in and picking up the pace.  And, of course, there's Elvis's version.

Goodnight, y'all.  Goodnight, Moon.

Space shuttle Atlantis just arrived home ending the last flight of the shuttle program. I'm going to miss watching launches and landings. I hope I get to see one of these shuttles in its new home.

Space shuttle Endeavour just got home. I haven't watched a night landing in a long time. It was nice and smooth. Now there's only one shuttle mission left. I'm going to miss them so much. Now I better go get some sleep. G'Night.

Space shuttle Endeavour (STS-134) had a beautiful launch this morning.  This the last space mission for this shuttle and then we've only got one more shuttle mission left.  Godspeed.

Just watched the final launch of Discovery, STS-133, and she's up safely. I love listening to all the mission control chatter especially everyone chiming that they are "go". What a geek, eh? Here's to a good mission and a great return trip.
