"The world is changed. I feel it in the water." Yeah Galadriel, I hear you. There are pigs flying everywhere, the devil has given Hell the day off to go skating, and LJ added that hearty thing. It must be that thing that happened in Chicago. No, not the dead showing up at the polls. That's next week.

The Cubs won the World Series. For the first time in 108 years. They came back from being down 3 to 1 games in the series which in itself is remarkable. How about all that, [livejournal.com profile] zubeneschamali? Pretty amazing. Congrats to the Cubs and to the Indians who came so close, there's always next year. With the end of the baseball season, winter is upon us and the long dark until pitchers and catchers report for spring training next year. See you after hibernation and hockey season.

Congratulations to the Giants on their World Series win.  I'm bummed out that the Tigers came unglued but the Giants played well.  Now I hibernate until spring training.  At least there's the consolation of college hockey in the meantime even though the pros are locked out.

Hang in there to anyone in the path of Sandy.  I'm hoping you stay safe and your power stays on.

I heard a chorus of spring peepers in the woods near my volunteer job.  On the way back home from there, a couple of swans were hanging out in a flooded farm field.  And best of all, today is the Minnesota Twins home opener.  Looks like a good day for baseball.

Snow is melting here and it's finally above freezing.  Days are lighter longer and I can here birdsong outside.  The most positive indication though is that the Minnesota Twins pitchers and catchers report for Spring Training today!  Workouts start tomorrow.  Whooo-hoo.

Wanders off singing Take Me Out to the Ball Game.
